# Invite people to view your work

Send an invite link so people can look at a sprite or a whole project, without changing anything, until you remove them.

An **invite link** lets people see your work in the editor exactly as it is: every layer and
frame, playing as an animation, at any zoom. They can look, but they can't change, copy, export or
keep anything.

Anyone who opens the link within **72 hours** becomes a **viewer**. A viewer keeps access after the
link expires, until you remove them, you delete the work, or they leave. They always see the latest
synced version.

| | Who |
| - | - |
| Invites people | You, with Sync, for your own synced work |
| Views | Anyone signed in to pxstud.io: a free account is enough |

## Invite people

1. Open the sprite in the editor and choose **File > Share View Link...**. On your account page,
   it's **Share view link…** in a sprite's or a project's menu (right-click it, or use its
   **⋯** button).
2. Choose **This sprite**, or **The whole project** to share every sprite in it.
3. Select **Create invite link**, then **Copy**, and send the link however you like.

The link is shown only once. If you lose it, make another; each one is open for its own 72 hours.

Viewers see what's in the cloud, so the work has to have synced first. If it hasn't, the dialog
says so instead of making a link that would show nothing. A sprite you've changed since its last
sync shows as it was then, and in a shared project, sprites that haven't synced yet appear once
they do.

Sharing comes with Sync. Without it, **Share View Link...** offers Sync instead; signed out, it
asks you to sign in.

## Manage who can view

The same dialog lists, for the project:

- **Open invites**, with when each expires. **Revoke** closes one at once, so nobody new can join
  with it. People who already joined keep their access.
- **People who can view**, by @username (or "Someone without a username" and the day they joined).
  **Remove** takes someone's access away at once; they'd need a new invite to view it again.

If your Sync ends, nobody can open your shared work until you have Sync again. Your viewers keep
it in their list, marked unavailable.

## Open an invite

Opening an invite link takes you to the editor. If you aren't signed in, you're asked to sign in
or create a free account first: enter your email address, open the link we send, and you land on
the shared work. Open that email link on the same device and browser; on another device, signing
in takes you to the editor, and you can open the invite link again from there.

Opening your own invite link does nothing: it's for the people you send it to.

## Work shared with you

Everything shared with you is on your account page, under **Shared with you** (in the editor:
**Project > Shared with You...**). Each entry shows who shared it, with:

- **Open**, to view it. It's greyed out while the owner doesn't have Sync.
- **Leave**, to remove it from your list. Only a new invite brings it back.

Shared work opens in the editor with a banner across the top: what it is, who shared it, and that
it's **view only**. Select **Back to my work** to return to the editor as you left it.

While you're viewing, you can:

- switch between the shared sprites with their tabs;
- go through the frames and play the animation, with onion skin;
- pan and zoom with the Hand and Zoom, rotate the view, and show the grids;
- open the timeline's layers to see how the work is built.

Everything that would change the work is unavailable and shown as such: drawing tools, layer and
frame changes, the palette and colors, undo, paste and scripts. Copy, export and save are off too.
Shared work is never saved in your browser, never added to your projects and never synced, so
viewing it leaves your own work untouched.
